About Our Child Day Care
Crawford Ausable Day Care Center & Preschool is a non-profit corporation that is licensed by the State of Michigan. We provide child care in a loving, nurturing environment. We offer full time child care for children aged 12 weeks to 3 years old in our Infant & Toddler Program. We offer full time child care for children, as well as a structured educational preschool program designed by our director, preschool teacher and staff for children 3 years - 5 years of age. We offer a latchkey program for school aged children which includes before and after school care, scheduled school closings, emergency school closing and snow days.

Crawford AuSable Day Care & Preschool
Here at Crawford AuSable Day Care & Preschool, we offer our students a comprehensive learning environment, filled with a variety of support and services. Infant & Toddler
Our Infant & Toddler Room is licensed for 12 children aged 6 weeks, however we currently do not enroll children until 12 weeks of age, until 33 months or when child is able to transition into the Younger Preschool Room. The staff to child ratio for this age group is 1 to 4. This is a full time program. Monday through Friday 7 am to 5:30 pm. The weekly cost is $250.00. It is a year round program. This program is child care with purposeful play. We focus on meeting your child's overall needs, helping them meet their developmental milestones and academic preparedness for the Younger Preschool Program.
YOUNGER PRESCHOOL
The Younger Preschool Program is designed for children who are 3 years of age by September 1st or shortly there after. This program is intended as a first year of preschool. When children leave this program they will be ready academically, socially and emotionally for our Older Preschool Program, but not necessarily Kindergarten. If a child is not ready to enter into the Older Preschool Program for any reason, they are eligible to repeat another year in this program. Children are required to be potty trained, with the exception of bottom wiping or minimal assistance.
This room is licensed for 16 children. The staff to child ratio is 1 to 10. Preschool and Childcare runs Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm. throughout the traditional school year. The cost for this program is $200 weekly ($40 daily). Childcare is available Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm. thought the summer months for the same cost. All snacks and lunch are parent provided. Everyday (during preschool time) children will have circle time, calendar, weekly academic focus, crafts or projects, free play time, outdoor time (weather permitting), large and small learning groups.
Older Preschool
The Older Preschool Program is designed for children who are 4 years of age by September 1st or planning on attending Kindergarten the following year. This program is intended as a second year of preschool, but accepts children who are academically, socially and emotionally ready. If you need guidance on if your child is ready for this program please see the information on the Younger Preschool Program to see if your child has mastered the end of year goals for that program prior to entry of this program.
When children leave this program they will be prepared to enter into Kindergarten. It is recommended that children only attend this program for one year, and the option to repeat this program may not be available. If a child is not ready to advance or a parent chooses not to send them to Kindergarten they may be eligible for Young 5’s through the school district. Children are required to be fully potty trained with no teacher assistance.
The room is licensed for 24 children. The staff to child ratio is 1 to 10. Currently this room is at a 2 to 18 ratio. Preschool and Childcare runs Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm. throughout the traditional school year. The cost for this program is $200 weekly ($40 daily). Childcare is available Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm. thought the summer months for the same cost. All snacks and lunch are parent provided. Latch Key
Latch Key is program that is for children Kindergarten through 3rd grade. We offer before and after school care. No school care, during the school year and summers. This programs follows both the Tradition and ELY school year with Crawford AuSable School District. The child to staff ratio is 1 to 18. Currently we have 2 staff and 23 children. Before school prices are $3 daily, and after school is a weekly rate of $50. On no school days, all day child care is $37 daily.

The children have a monthly calendar of events that include special snacks, cooking lessons, arts and crafts and much more. While this program is designed by it's teachers, it is ideas, suggestions and input from the children on would like to do that month.
